Spring Forward

19 Apr

After a long hiatus…well actually a move, laptop crash, broken camera, and bouts of technical difficulties, & some nonsense to go with it…I’m back, like I never left! Thanks to the countless tech-hours spent chatting with my techy friends and family, Lotus32 can bring you more blogs, photos, updates, views and thoughts (I know you missed it).

So within the next couple of days, expect to get slammed with emails (well, not really slammed, more like 2 emails) to check out the changes to the site and an overall update on what’s been going on in the wonderful world of me. I promise to spare you of all the pollen laden drama I’ve been enduring and refuse to mention all my allergy related complaints….ok, seriously that’s the last you’ll hear of that. I’m buying a Neti pot & it’s suppose to make life easier (for those who don’t know what a Neti pot is, I’ll post a blog about that too).

Until then, PEACE.

Money and Things

25 Jan

Prosperity is not just living with money and things. Much like Poverty is not just living with the lack of money and things. Prosperity and Poverty are also mentalities that can easily dictate what you will and will not accomplish. Armed with the right tools and mentality, you too can decide where your future will take you.

Hey Pumpkin

12 May

pumpkin-pieIn an effort to diversify my culinary talents, I decided to add desserts to my list. Mission:Bake a pie, Result:The Best Damn Pumpkin Pie ever!

Here’s how I did it:
1 Large pie crust
1 Can of pumpkin pie mix
1 Large egg
2 tbsps of Cinnamon powder
1 tbsp of Nutmeg powder
1 tbsp of All-spice
1 tbsp of Ground ginger

Mix ingredients in a bowl & pour into pie crust. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Once pie has cooled add some whip cream & crushed pecans.

I got this baking thing in the bag!

The Deuce

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of visiting with the great gentlemen of ‘The Deuce’ aka Station 2 of the Arlington County Fire Department. I had a blast! I was like an 8 yr old, taking pictures and asking thousands of questions all the while with a perma-cheese grind on my face. To my dismay, they didn’t have one of those poles that you see in fire stations on TV…but I quickly got over that when I got to tour the facility.

Most important was ‘catching up’ with my homey Greg, (who made the trip possible) we chatted about this and that, and it made me realize that some of the best moments can be the most simple. Never miss the opportunity to do the simple things like visiting a museum, taking a walk through the park, listening to a mature, wise family member, laughing uncontrollably about absolutely nothing, or visiting with an old friend. As simple as these things sound, they can be the most fundamental moments that we carry with us through our lives.

Pathfinder

20 Apr

Our future starts when we wake up every morning, every day we need to find something creative to do with our lives. The future is not some place we are going, but one we have the power to create, simply by our actions and in some cases our non actions. Our paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of making them, changes both the maker and the destination. Choose wisely the path you wish to take.
